Game Plan Experts
I got to audition for Game Plan Experts right when they were launching the 2017 Game Plan Expo, which was an event that hosted all kinds of Emergency Preparedness companies from around the area and gave them an medium to reach their customers.
My audition was to sell tickets via email marketing to their 1,400 person email list, which thus far had not proven to be very successful. The company they were using to do their marketing was very well versed in getting Facebook likes but not well versed in Copywriting. I added some tweaks and boosted open rates by 100% and click through rates by over 250% in the first two weeks.
From there the owners wanted to take a realistic approach to building a cash-positive business. They had gone through plenty of other marketing personnel, and were sick of the fluff. So I decided to get some quick wins by boosting their online sales. One important lesson here: valuable businesses need recurring revenue streams to be valuable. Without cash you're dead in the water.
A huge emphasis with this project (which is ongoing) is not only boosting their sales (which we have done tremendously) but also giving their brand the reputation it deserves. The company only handles high quality gear and refuses to use scare tactics to lure people into buying things they don't need. We get this message across with every post and email we write.
With Game Plan, I built them a new site which emphasized a marketing funnel more than just a placeholder. One of the areas of improvement I noticed for them was howw we could be making our inbound marketing more efficient, so I am developing and testing different funnels to measure effectiveness.
The site they have up I built using Weebly, which I usually don't recommend. However, the owners wanted something they were comfortable with editing and updating themselves and had been using this platform for a while.
